Novak Djokovic was born on the 22nd of May 1987 in Belgrade, Serbia. A prodigious talent, Djokovic first began playing tennis at the age of four. By the age of eight he had caught the attention of top Serbian tennis coaches, and had begun his tennis career at the age of fourteen.
Djokovic spent three years learning the professional tour ropes in the Challenger and Futures series. While he failed to capture any Junior Grand Slams, he was good enough to break into the ATP Tour and won his first ATP title in 2006 at the Open de Moselle in France.

Novak Djokovic is one of the best baseline players in the business, capable of hitting winning shots from the back of the court. He nevertheless has the versatility to handle the net game well. One of his biggest assets is his powerful service game. Djokovic’s game is best suited to hard courts, however; he has won a tournament at Masters level on clay.

Novak Djokovic is one of the few players of the Nadal/Federer era to have won a grand slam title, with two Australian Open titles beneath his belt. Aside from these Grand Slam titles, Djokovic has also excelled in the Masters Series tournaments, and is one of only a handful of players on tour to have won on both clay and hard courts at Masters level.

Novak Djokovic looks very dangerous coming into the 2011 French Open. The Seb is unbeaten in 2011, and laid any doubts over his ability on clay to rest when he beat King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, on his home turf to take the Madrid Masters title. Djokovic looks a real contender for a place in the final, and looks genuinely capable of ending Nadal's tournament.
